2 Peter Chapter 1
2Pe 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those that have obtained equally precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ.
2Pe 1:2 Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the acknowledgment of God and Jesus our Lord.
2Pe 1:3 As his divine power has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the acknowledgment of him who has called us by his own glory and virtue,
2Pe 1:4 through which very great and precious promises have been given to us, that through these you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world in desire;
2Pe 1:5 and for this very reason bringing forward all diligence, supply in your faith, virtue, and in virtue, knowledge,
2Pe 1:6 and in knowledge, self-control, and in self-control, patience, and in patience, godliness,
2Pe 1:7 and in godliness, friendship for brethren, and in friendship for brethren, love.
2Pe 1:8 For these things being in you and abounding render you neither idle, nor unfruitful for the acknowledgment of our Lord Jesus Christ;
2Pe 1:9 but he in whom these are not present, is blind, not seeing afar off, having taken up a forgetfulness of the purification of his old sins.
2Pe 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, be diligent to make your calling and election sure; for in doing these things you shall never stumble.
2Pe 1:11 For so shall there be richly supplied to you the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
2Pe 1:12 Wherefore I shall always remind you of these things, though you know them and are established in the present truth.
2Pe 1:13 Yes, I think it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance,
2Pe 1:14 knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me.
2Pe 1:15 But I will endeavor that you may always be able, after my departure, to have these things in remembrance.
2Pe 1:16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but had been made eye-witnesses of his majesty.
2Pe 1:17 For he received from God the Father honor and glory, a voice having been borne to him by the most excellent glory, such as this: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
2Pe 1:18 And this voice brought from heaven we heard, being with him in the holy mount;
2Pe 1:19 and we have the prophetic word more sure, to which you do well to give heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, till the day dawn and the day-star arise in your hearts;
2Pe 1:20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from one's own interpretation.
2Pe 1:21 For not by the will of man was prophecy ever brought, but men from God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
