1 Thessalonians Chapter 1
1Th 1:1 Paul and Silvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to you and peace.
1Th 1:2 We thank God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers,
1Th 1:3 incessantly remembering your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope of our Lord Jesus Christ before our God and Father,
1Th 1:4 knowing, brethren beloved of God, your election,
1Th 1:5 because our gospel came not to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance, as you know what sort of persons we were among you for your sake.
1Th 1:6 And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction with joy of the Holy Spirit,
1Th 1:7 so that you became a pattern to all that believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.
1Th 1:8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything;
1Th 1:9 for they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entrance we had to you, and how you turned to God from the idols, to serve the living and true God,
1Th 1:10 and to await his Son from the heavens, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the coming wrath.
