Galatians Chapter 1
Gal 1:1 Paul an apostle (not from men, nor by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the father who raised him from the dead) and all the brethren,
Gal 1:2 who are with me, unto the churches of Galatia: grace be to you, and peace from God the father,
Gal 1:3 and from our Lord Jesus Christ: who gave himself for our sins,
Gal 1:4 that he might deliver us from the vices of this present age, according to the will of God, even our father: to
Gal 1:5 whom be glory for ever and ever. amen. I wonder you have so soon deserted unto another gospel,
Gal 1:6 from me, who called you by the grace of Christ; this can be
Gal 1:7 owing to nothing but your being practised upon by some, who would overturn the gospel of Christ.
Gal 1:8 but tho' I, or an angel from heaven should preach any thing to you for gospel, different from the gospel I have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Gal 1:9 as I said before, so say I now again, if any one preach any other thing to you for gospel, than what you have received, let him be accursed.
Gal 1:10 for do I now act in obedience to men, or to God? or do I seek to please men? if I had hitherto pleased men, I should not have been the servant of Christ.
Gal 1:11 I certify to you, brethren, that the gospel, which has been preached by me, is not the result of human artifice:
Gal 1:12 for I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Gal 1:13 you have heard of my former behaviour, whilst I was of the Jewish religion, with what excessive violence I persecuted the church of God, and laid it waste:
Gal 1:14 and that I made a greater proficiency in Judaism than many my contemporaries of my own nation, being an extraordinary zealot for the traditions of my forefathers.
Gal 1:15 but when it pleased God, who ordained me from my birth, and called me by his especial favour, to reveal his son to me,
Gal 1:16 that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not thereupon apply my self to any man;
Gal 1:17 neither went I up to Jerusalem, to those who were apostles before me: but I went immediately to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.
Gal 1:18 After three years, I went up to Jerusalem, to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days:
Gal 1:19 but other of the apostles saw I none, except James the Lord's brother.
Gal 1:20 what I write to you, I call God to witness is all true:
Gal 1:21 afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;
Gal 1:22 but was personally unknown to the churches of Christ in Judea,
Gal 1:23 who had only heard, that I, who formerly persecuted them, did now preach the gospel of faith, which I once endeavoured to suppress:
Gal 1:24 and they glorified God upon my account.
